Writing Your Own Poetry

These activities will get you started writing your own poems:
1. Louder Than A Clap of Thunder (Scholastic):
- Read through the poem two times.
- Next, click on “QuickTime (1.29MB)” at the bottom to listen to the author read the poem out loud.
- Click on each type of poetry to learn how to write them, and create your own poems with the engine.
- Create your own poem using the words given.
- If you want different words to choose from, click “More Words” at any time.
- Type in the word for which you need help rhyming and choose from the long list that they find.
