Playlist Title
Find out how the three main classifications of rock (igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic) are formed and change from one into the other.
1. Rock Formations (e-Learning for Kids):
- Enter your name and follow instructions to help identify rocks.
- Click “Play Now.”
- Explore the Interactive.
- Watch the Video.
- Play the Game and match the parts of the rock cycle with the diagram.
- Click on the “Video” button on the bottom to learn how igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic rocks are formed.
- Drag a rock sample to the test plate and use the magnifying glass to determine if it is igneous, metamorphic, or sedimentary.
- Take the rock to the correct lab, by clicking on the door, to learn more about the rock you have examined.
- Once inside the lab, there are posters on the wall that will give you more information on identifying the rock.
- Read/listen to each poster and perform the test that is available on the table.
- You may also click on the “Table” icon in the corner to help identify your rock.
- Once you identify the rock, leave the lab and choose the correct option on the scale by clicking CHECK.
- After you have identified all of the rocks, click on the “Journal” picture in the bottom corner and type in your answers to the questions.
