Explore the world of renewable and nonrenewable energy sources on earth. Learn how to power a fictional city and drill the earth for resources.
1. Classifying Energy Sources:
- Mouse over each energy source to read about its uses, carbon footprint, energy form and availability.
- Mouse over the dropbox titles to learn about renewable, non-renewable and inexhaustible resources.
- Drag each resource into the correct dropbox title
- Click on “Learn More” to find out about using energy sources for powering your city.
- Once you have researched all the information, return to the main page and begin the activity.
- Choose a city to power, and decide to play the normal or expert game.
- Click on information tabs to find out how the Stakeholders feel about the energy source.
- Click on the Energy Sources on the map to initiate their use.
- Click on Energy Strategies tab to find out your options for energy and add sources.
- Click on the Graph tab to monitor each year’s progress.
- Click on the Year tab to move to the next level.
- Try a different scenario when the first one is complete or failed.
- Click on the continue tab to begin.
- Follow directions to successfully drill for resources.
