After learning about the major classification kingdoms, explore the world of microorganisms by visiting a virtual pond, viewing actual footage of microorganisms on the ocean floor.
1. Classifying Living Things (Glencoe):
- Read and follow the instructions on the left (identify each organism and sort it into the correct box).
- Make sure to answer the questions in the journal and fill in the table at the bottom of the screen.
- Click on the organisms in the jar to learn about the microbes.
- Visit the Pond Life Identification Kit to learn about more microbes.
- Watch the video about ocean microbes to experience life under the ocean.
- Wait 30 seconds after video has finished and answer the quiz questions.
- Click on ‘Think’ and answer those questions.
