Exploring Area and Perimeter
Playlist Title
- Read through the short story about finding the perimeter and area with Amy and Ben. Use the ruler to measure the next 10 rectangles, finding the perimeter and area of each.
- Choose either perimeter or area and review how to find those measurements.
- Complete all levels of practice problems for each type of measurement.
- Make sure you go back and practice both area and perimeter.
- Click, “Let’s Go” and read the instructions in the corner.
- Drag the corners of each object to create the correct area and perimeter as shown in the box to the right. Objects must be able to fit in the room.
- Move objects around and change their shape until they fit just right.
- When each object has the correct area and perimeter and fits into the room, click, “Check It.”
- If you get it correct, you move to the next round. If you do not have all areas and perimeters correct, you will get a hint.
