Catch a Wave!
Playlist Title
- Follow the directions to create different sounds with a guitar, drum, and bottle.
- Click on the speaker for help reading.
- After you experiment with the instruments, click SORT SOUNDS and place the recorders on a chart based on how high or low the pitch is and how loud or quiet the sound is.
- Complete the ten question quiz about sounds and see how many you get correct.
- Create a wave on your string by moving the wrench up and down.
- Click on OSCILLATE and change one of the top options at a time to help you understand what amplitude, frequency, damping, and tension mean and how they effect a wave.
- Continue to change one thing about the wave at a time to help you see the effects on the string/wave.
- Listen to the Scientist explain how the glasses show sound waves.
- Explore the laboratory and visit each station to see the sound waves and if humans or animals can hear them.
