Analyzing and Comprehending Different Forms of Informational Texts

In this playlist, you will be demonstrating all the skills you have been developing while reading nonfiction. To do this, you will be selecting news articles from two different resources to read and summarize. You will also read and identify the main arguments of several famous speeches, including those of civil rights leader Martin Luther King and other American historical figures. If you are particularly interested, you are encouraged to do further research about these individuals! One note: when you are reading through the CBBC Newsround, you will be choosing three videos to watch. Pay attention to the main idea and the author’s purpose. When you explain what your think the main point is, use evidence like the author’s actual words to back up your claims. Good luck!
