Students will be introduced to Hercules’ 12 Labors through a short, dramatic video about his hero’s journey. Then, they will each create a diorama or drawing of one of his feats, that together will form a classroom frieze of Hercules’ 12 Labors.
As students put themselves in the role of a Greek hero with missions in Olympia, Sparta and Athens, they will experience the culture and meet historical figures in each of the three city-states. Based on these virtual experiences, students will compare and contrast life in the three city-states, using a compare-and-contrast worksheet to classify those observations as they work to satisfy the goals of the hero’s quest.
